A lot of complementary endeavors and initiatives of the government and the civil society organization have been expedited to respond and resolve the proliferation of rido or clannish disputes in the Maranao society, however, it is observed that not much efforts are being done to harness the role of the traditional leaders, structures, systems and practices in conflict resolution processes and peace building efforts.
After being a spectator of RIDO Inc., it amazes us how it actually works to settle conflict in very interesting ways. It may take sometime though but the fruit of hard labor can be pretty rewarding. Viewing it from an external perspective, “rido” is definitely complicated, complex but negotiable, may be irrational and absurd for some but its uniqueness has raised the curiosity of the masses.
RIDO Inc. is an organization fully committed to harness the Maranao Traditional Mechanism for conflict resolution and address the causes of violence so that peace and sustainable development in Lanao Region will be attained.
